Man Facing Kidnapping Charges After Woman Leaves Note Alleging Abuse
A 38-year-old Wilmington man, Marcus Williams, was arrested on May 28 after deputies discovered a note in a Navarre Road business restroom indicating that a woman was being held against her will and feared for her life.

He now faces multiple domestic violence-related charges, including felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felony kidnapping or false imprisonment, felony battery, misdemeanor battery (touch or strike), and felony battery by strangulation.

According to deputies, the woman had been held in a locked bedroom for several hours before managing to slip a plea for help into the public restroom.

Investigators say Williams allegedly used physical force to prevent her from leaving, brandishing a knife to intimidate her and causing bruising to her arms and neck.
